Marcus' 9th birthday

For the last three years, instead of birthday gifts, Marcus has asked his friends to give donations to his chosen charity. This year he and his mom prepared a presentation for his second and third grade classes. At the presentation he showed the class his three favorite charities and then each classmate completed a form to indicate which charity Marcus should donate the funds to. UNICEF received over 50 percent of the votes and Marcus' mom reports that "the responses were creative, touching and endearing." This year Marcus raised $540 for UNICEF for his 9th birthday!
